f o o d . c u l t u r e . d a y 22 April 2009

we had our Food Culture Day on 22 April 2009..
and it was kinda like an event to create awareness of the difference in flavor principles, cooking styles and food culture of different countries in the world..
slept like only 2-3 hours the night before..
preparing the food and stuff...
last minute work on PBL..
and also preparing for Financial Accounting Seminar..
yeah.. that is completely insane..
the day started at 9.15am.. with our last PBL session.. luckily it went well..
then we rushed of to the atrium.. where we have already arranged the booths the day before.. and started decorating the booths..
it was bizarre.. everyone was so hectic..
some vigorously pasting the pieces of decoration on the display boards..
some pacing here and there waiting for their food to arrive..
and belief me.. there is a serious shortage of time..
NOTE:: must let AAD know.. for the next batch, have to allocate the session before food culture day empty.. for preparation

well, as we were busy arranging our stuff and decorating our booth.. a guy came and started asking.. "excuse me.. may i know who is the girl in charge of this event?"
blurred.. i was like.. "yeah.. it's me.. anything??"
it turns out that we were not the only ones who booked the atrium..
the IMU table tennis club booked the atrium for their welcoming party too..
huh??? how in the world did this happen??
i guess IMU made a mistake or something.. but nothing could be done..
since the guy was quite polite and everything.. i guess it'd be okay to share the atrium..
and it went well.. i guess.. except for the few times that the ping pong balls narrowly missed us.. as in nearly fell into our food or hit us..

anyway.. quite enjoyed myself..
thumbs up to everyone.. i've always thought that the ND-ians were a very talented and capable batch.. *okay.. okay... it's just my opinion.. don't start smirking..*

it was fun.. getting together and organizing an event like this..
i'd say it was quite a success..
Mexico, Vietnam, China, Italy, Africa, Korea, Spain, Thailand, Greece and Japan..
we all did well... give yourselves a pat on the back... *prof peter's style*
congrats to the winners of the day.. Mexico, Thailand.. and us--Japan..

and now.. get ready for the pictures..

i t ' s :: o v e r . . .

i've finished semester 2 of Nutrition & Dietetetics!!!
seriously, i can't believe it's over..
14 weeks.. and it seems like just a while ago that i posted that i've finished semester 1..
and of course.. what does this signifies?
hmm...
that i'm another year older... 21.. =__________=
that another RM13000 is spent..
that another EOS is coming..
that...

let me just wrap up about this semester..
basically, it started quite moodily.. where few of our batchmates couldn't make it to semester 2 with us..
it was sad that our own friends had to leave..
it was like an alarm bell.. what if it happened to me??
everyone seemed more cautious about academics this semester..
everyone was suddenly very stressed and studious..
but i guess it's actually a good thing.. everyone was doing so well in the class tests that even the lecturers couldnt believe it..
and the semester begin...

the 49 of us went through this 14 weeks..
our 1st Basic Communications lecture..
our 1st Financial Accounting lecture..
our 1st IT lecture..
and the Dean's Briefing.. i'm sure everyone remembered that..
the 1st Communications Tutorial.. and many more hilarious tutorials to come.. whoever knew that N&D people are such comedians..
the 1st PBL we've had..
and the 1st class test of the semester -- Financial Accounting
the 1st wave of stress and exhaustion in week 8..
the NSM meeting..
our Batch Project to Yakult~
and the torturing last two weeks..
the class tests and final tests that was packed into two weeks..
the day when we had PBL then Food Culture Day then Financial Accounting Seminar..
wow.. sometimes i think we're really a capable lot.. look at what we've been through..

comments about my batch..
i really loved everyone.. thanks for all the support and cooperation that you've given to me..
and i really think that N&D is a talented batch..
there's just so many hidden talents among us.. waiting to be discovered..
it was really a nice experience getting to know everyone..
and i really hope to know everyone better.. =)
i hope that i didn't let everyone down..

good luck for the EOS everyone.. let's make it through to semester 3 together..
remember that there's always your 48 batchmates going through the same thing when you're stressed and tired..
you're not alone..
and we're going to make it..
gambatte everyone~

* caution:: there's gonna be a massive update on recent events in the next few posts..

CAPRICORN - The Go-Getter

Patient and wise.
Practical and rigid.
Ambitious.
Tends to be good-looking.*hmm.. i doubt this..*
Humorous and funny.
Can be a bit shy and reserved.
Often pessimists.
Capricorns tend to act before they think and can be unfriendly at times.
Hold grudges.
Like competition.
Get what they want.
sometimes i feel like i don't really know myself..
who i am?
what i really want?
where am i headed?

wish me luck...

i've only got 3 more weeks till the end of semester 2..
u might be wondering.. have i abandoned this blog?
the answer is.. no.. i'd have to put it temporarily on hold..
but why??

i guess those in N & D will understand my feelings pretty well at the moment..
it's a mixture of:
stress x tired x stress x exhaustion x stress x fear x stress x fed up x stress....
get it??
notice the repetition of the word "STRESS"..
let's see..
in this 3 weeks...
we have..
3 x PBL sessions..
1 x Financial Accounting Assignment
2 x class tests (Food Culture & Nurtition + Lifespan Nutrition)
1 x IT Assignment
2 x Biochemistry Practicals
1 x Communications Speech Presentation
1 x Food Culture Day project *food display and report*
1 x IT CAL test
1 x Biochemistry Assignment
1 x Financial Accounting Seminar
and not forgeting
1 x Malaysian Studies Final Exam

see what i mean??
it's gonna be such "fun"..
and "relaxing"..
and "happy"..
how "lucky" of us to get this "special training" on TIME MANAGEMENT..
how we "love" the person who set this "amazing" timetable..

seriously.. i just hope i survive this 3 weeks...
wish me luck and ever-lasting energy and 100% focused concentration..
coz i'm seriously needing these...

to those who are in the same situation as me..
let's just survive this together..
take care of yourselves.. drink more water.. get enough sleep..
keep your fingers crossed..
all the best.. gambatte~~

.. RANTS ..

yes.. i am a perfectionist..
yes.. i'm paranoid..
yes.. people's judgement matters a lot to me..
yes.. i worry a lot..
yes.. i like things to be well-planned..
yes.. i don't like to trouble other people..
yes.. i try not to let people feel annoyed..

so.. i'm sorry..
i can never be as carefree and reckless as u are..
i'd have to be serious at times..
i can't always be that cheery.. bubbly.. happy girl..
there're much more to consider before doing anything..
so.. i'm sorry to have spoilt ur fun..
sorry.. u'll have to bear with me..
sorry.. u'll have to accept my mood swings..
sorry that u had to read all these..
