went to a sushi-making class organized by the Nihon no Sekai, IMU..
did i mentioned i'm going? hahaha.. anyway, i did..

and it was super, super fun..
there was 2 teachers.. pretty and funny.. both only students like us..
except.. they're from UTAR...
surprising right? we're all about the same age and people are already teaching..
while.. i'm still... well, u know..

well, it was quite a interesting experience..
learned how to make different kinds of sushi..
made Nigirizushi(didn't have fish, so we made tamagozushi), Makizushi, California roll, Temakizushi(hand roll), Gunkan sushi, Onigiri, etc...
thank god it actually looked presentable..
and... yummy~ it actually tasted pretty good..

i'm getting pretty lazy with words these days..
i wonder if it's got anything to do with my lack-of-reading these days..
omg.. i've gotta read more..
so i guess, it's picture time...

ingredients...

tamagozushi

makizushi

california roll

onigiri

results.. presentable right?? yippie~~

K l a n g ::: T r i p ~ 28.02.2009

okay.. this was waaayyyy back during end of february..
and i wasn't in the mood/hadn't the energy to upload all these photos..
anyway, i went to Klang with a couple of friends :: WenYi, JyeDin, Daniel and HorngNgiap..
what was i doing in klang?? actually we went there under the request/invitation from JyeDin..
to attend a choir concert by his eldest sis' choir..

so that morning... i got up at 8++am..
gathered my books and notes, and went to IMU to do my usual Saturday-Revision-at-Library..
we have the 3rd class test on Food Culture & Nutrition coming.. and i don't really wanna be caught unprepared for it...
belief me.. it's really torture.. trying to remember which spices came from which part of the world..
and where each specific food originated from..
but then.. apart from having to memorize all these facts, it's actually quite interesting to find out about the different food habits and culture of other continents and countries...
i wonder how i could make it more interesting?

well, headed back home at 12.30pm..
JyeDin had warned me not to be late, coz we're leaving Vista Komanwel at 1.30pm..
to be able to reach klang in time to try klang's famous bak kut teh~!
typical N&D students right? whenever and wherever, we just have to eat!

at 2.45pm, we were seated at a bak kut teh restaurant, highly recommended by JyeDin -- Teluk Pulai Bak Kut Teh..
amazed by the number of bak kut teh shops available there! i mean, it's like it's the town's symbol or something..
imagine, at average... each row of shop lot has an average of 3-4 bak kut teh outlets out of 10!
seriously, u would think that the staple food of this town is bak kut teh!
and THUMBS UP! it really tastes great..
kinda reminds me of Kit Cai Bak Kut Teh that we have back at my home town..
the bak kut teh served here was special / different from what i used to eat..
it's served with Oil Rice *rice cooked with chicken stock, garlic, oyster sauce....*
the soup base was quite rich.. u can really get the taste of the tea and herbs in ur mouth..
but what amazes me, is the flow of customers.. it was like already 3pm.. and the crowd never seems to lessen..
okay.. photo-time! indulge yourselves..

and of course.. how can i not post the pictures of these lovely people who went with me?? so here it is..

and after the nice bak kut teh meal, we stopped by a local florist..
to order some bouquets of flowers that JyeDin's sis needed..
and omg!! it was sooo expensive... rm40 for a bouquet?? and it's only 3 lilies per bunch!
hahaha.. seriously considering whether i should be a florist instead of a dietitian... okay~ i'm just joking..
well then, we headed towards the new Bukit Tinggi JUSCO..
and it was huge!!!
bought a pair of nice shoes there.. =)
ran into a group of students from UiTM there..
they were doing some kinda project there..
caught a glimpse of some nutrition posters over there..
so we decided to go have a look..
shockingly... we found them educating people on Blood-Type-Diets..
which is a typical FOOD FAD!!
and.. they're not even nutrition/dietetic students..
just a bunch of unqualified PHARMACY students.. giving the wrong misleading information to the public... zzzz...
really concerned about this issue.. what if someone really follows the diet??
they would be in risk of being deficient in a specific food group.. which will lead to some serious consequences..
anyway, nothing much i can do at the moment.. maybe someday~~~~

random shot..

lanscape of Bukit Tinggi... from the JUSCO parking lot..

and we headed back to the florist.. to get the bouquets..
they turned out quite nice.. despite the ever so expensive price for it..
and we headed to PeiHwa High School, where the concert was held..
met up with JyeDin's eldest sis.. who was supposed to be 7 years older than him, but looked 2 years younger than him!
and we waited for the concert to start..
this post has been going on for quite long.. so i really shouldn't go on writing about the boring details.. so i guess i'll just post some photos to do the talking...

i . m i s s . h o m e . . . .

it's been sometime since i last went home..
and i miss home..
this overwelming home-sickness is getting stronger day by day..
little by little.. i felt the happiness draining from me..
day by day.. the smile on my face fades away..

i find myself glazing over and my expression going blank..
people wonder why i'm so blur these days..
if possible.. i'd also wanna just smile and laugh all day..
but then.. people will suddenly notice i'm more quiet and serious at times..
life without my family near me is hard..

i want my daddy to be lecturing me and advising me..
when i felt the pressure too much to cope..
i want my mummy to be nagging me that i've gotta go rest..
when i'm doing my assignments all alone, late at night in my room..
i want my brothers to be disturbing me every now and then..
distracting me from all these unsolved and unfinished stuff..

i miss home....

Biochemistry Practical 2

we had our 2nd practical on friday..
and it's on lipids..
instead of our usual groupings at our benches..
people from 3 benches were combined into 1 huge group of nearly 20..
i wonder why... not enough samples??
heyy.. we got pay fees every semester okay?
if cannot do individual experiment.. at least not 20 students crowded around a set of experiment...

anyway, before the experiment, there was this usual briefing from the lab assistants..
"read your manual.. blablablablabla... there's only 1 extra sample, do not make mistake, there won't be any sample for u to redo... blablabla..."
limited resources?? whatever... as if we're gonna fall for that...

and so we started the experiment..
